Flexible tunnel shed is widely utilized in scenarios such as tunnel entrances and exits, roadside slopes, and mountain roadsides. The system consists of curved steel beams, supporting rods, ring nets, high-strength steel wire mesh, energy dissipators, on-site concrete foundations, etc. Mainly applied to prevent falling rocks from invading road clearance, the flexible tunnel system protects pedestrians, vehicles, and facilities on the road, especially around tunnel portals. Flexible tunnel shed systems can be divided into arch-type shed, frame-type flexible shed, and cantilever-type shed. The commonly utilized energy levels for arched flexible shed is 300 Kj, 500 Kj, and 800 Kj, and higher protection energy levels can be developed and designed separately according to demands.
