Project Background
After one year’s restoration and reconstruction, Conch Gully of Sichuan resumes to receive tourists since 5th September 2022, Luding 6.8-magnitude earthquake. The roads leading to the scenic area and scenic area facilities have been restored, and potential risks of landslides and rockfall along the main roads are desperately in need.
(Target Site)
The Project
The target project is located in the throat and sole road to Conch Gully tourism area, unstable rocks and latent landslides are threatening the safety of the tourists and vehicles passing by. One side of the 6m-wide road is on river bank while the other next to slope, such geographical conditions require the rockfall interception system be different from the one of norm.
The Challenge
Unstable rocks and clastics tends to fall from a 40m-high slope covers total area of 1550m2, there’s no enough space for post erect and support ropes layout comparing to the conventional rockfall mitigation system. The whole project is determined to utilize the stereoscopic space.
The Solution
RXI100 series rockfall shed, which adapts horizontal post support and net layout, keeps the road free from rockfall attack. When the loosing rock falling towards road, it will be intercepted by net system, most rocks will be bounced up and fall into the riverside, thus the system achieves both rockfall protection and free-clear for intercepted rock.
